Senate to Vote December 19 to Repeal WEP and GPO On Wednesday the Senate voted by an overwhelming vote of 73-27 to proceed with a vote on the Social Security Fairness Act.

Senate to Vote December 19 to Repeal WEP and GPO On Wednesday the Senate voted by an overwhelming vote of 73-27 to proceed with a vote on the Social Security Fairness Act. The vote indicates there is broad support for the legislation and removed a major impediment to its passage.

The Act repeals the Windfall Elimination Penalty (WEP) and the Government Pension Offset (GPO) FCIA members need to contact their Senators to urge them to pass the bill. Call (202) 224-3121 and ask the operator to transfer you to your senators offices.
